Three schema types cover almost everything a search engine or an AI assistant needs from a hotel website: Hotel, FAQPage and Review. The rest is optional.

Structured data is a block of JSON-LD in the page code that tells a machine, in plain terms, what your website says. The guest sees no change. Rafael Osborne (Profit Guest Services): most independent hotel sites I open carry no schema, so the assistant has to guess the address, the check-in time and the room types from the copy.

The three steps

  1. Hotel on the homepage: name, full postal address, phone, priceRange, starRating, amenityFeature, and a link to your own booking engine.
  2. FAQPage on the page that answers check-in, parking, pets and cancellation. Google rarely shows these as rich results anymore, but assistants still read them.
  3. Review or AggregateRating only if the ratings are real and visible on the page. Invent them and the whole block gets ignored.

Publish, then run the URL through Google's Rich Results Test. If it parses clean, you are done.

Does schema lift your ranking? Not directly. What it does is make you quotable, which is what matters when an AI writes the answer.
